Site strategies.

David Baker Architects and Paulett Taggart Architects joined together to design affordable public housing for two steeply sloped blocks in Hunters View, an existing distressed San Francisco Housing Authority site. The site was completely reconfigured with a modern traditional neighborhood master plan designed by Soloman/Mithun Architects.

This project entails 107 units of affordable family housing on two city blocks within the Phase II redevelopment of Hunters View. The design strategy breaks integrates the two blocks as one, then divides the design into manageable, cost-effective elements.

Two accessible, five-story apartment buildings are situated on the most level portion of the site on Fairfax Avenue. Row houses step down the steeper adjacent streets. Our design strategy includes designing a range of  facades with design partner Paulett Taggart Architects, to create a rich and varied street wall with a diversity of scale, texture, and style.
