Rendering of the new bathrooms.

The vinyl privacy graphics for the glass curtain walls are derived from the HTML code found within the client's website. The code relates to the different spaces that they contain (i.e. food, beverage, and hospitality postings code contain the kitchen and dining area). The graphics will become more or less dense depending on the privacy needed in each space. Varying tones, scale, layers, directionality, and translucency will be used to transform the language into graphic texture.

The space in filled with simple, raw materials like waxed steel and black walnut, surrounded by varying hues of grays, with bursts of colors enclosed in glass for the offices. Translucent HTML code covers all the glass in different tones, scales, and layers. Renderings coming soon. Click on the pdf above to see more of the finishes and furnishings.

Workstation prototype 1 by Ohio Design

Workstation prototype 1 by Ohio Design

This is the first prototype, in a series of prototypes, of a screen and desk workstation, composed of waxed plate steel and re-purposed walnut. These pieces will be components within a kit of parts for each employee to arrange according to their personal work preferences. They were designed and built in collaboration with Ohio Design.

A digital 3D model view of the existing space.

The open plan is divided into different team zones with tall, planted green walls. Spatial structure is added to the space through a series of wood-slat screens arranged to connect to Ethernet/power nodes around the office and provided personal workspace for each individual.

The green walls absorb sound and bring life and oxygen into the space, improving the air, acoustics, and overall feel of the office. They will be planted with varying plant types, from succulents to, possibly, vegetable and herb producing plants to use for cooking within the office.

The wood-slat screens are used to provide spatial structure within the space but still allow for an open plan. The are easily movable to accommodate for the growth of each work team and house all necessary power and ethernet connections needed. A short or tall screen is available for each individual for them to personalize as they see fit. Personal bicycle storage is integrated into each unit, as well as, an optional acoustic absorption panel for added privacy.

Investigative demo of floor

Through investigative demo, we have discovered the material composition of the floor. This has greatly assisted us in making design decisions, especially in regards to Ethernet and power distribution.
